Verbier freeride and avalanche education for women

Women have an educational role in our society: their children will feed off their passion for free riding and the mountains. By empowering women to become more autonomous in the mountains, we create a society that in turn will be more symbiotic with their environment!

The mountains are best served with a side of empowerment so mixing fun and learning is what this clinic aims to achieve. We will discover some of the secret gems that the Verbier 4 Vallees resort holds in store for free riders all the while learning the basic of avalanche education.

Verbier is the ultimate free ride destination offering some of the best lift access backcountry skiing in the Alps! With more 100 lifts in the Verbier 4 Vallées area, you can find untracked power days after the last snowfall and for even longer if you’re willing to “earn your turns” with a little lift access ski touring!

What you will learn:

  • Know how to use your avalanche rescue gear (how to use and wear your avalanche transceiver, probe and shovel)
  • Reading and understanding the avalanche forecast
  • What are the critical hazards you are facing in the backcountry
  • 3×3 filter method for decision making in avalanche terrain
